How I Edit My Instagram Photos
A lot of people have been asking how I edit my photos. I will do a video going into more detail but here is a quick overview.
How I shoot: I take my pictures on either my iPhone or my DSLR camera.
Editing: Facetune & VSCO Cam
Facetune- First I use the Teeth Whiten feature to white any whites or grey in the photo. This will make the white more a pure white, correct any yellow and lighten any grey. I also like the detail feature in this app, I use this to make my eyes pop or anything in the photo I want to stand out. The smooth feature is also nice for any blemishes or things you want to cover.
VSCO- This is the app I use to filter my photo. My theme right now is a bright and dark cool tone. The way I edit is different for every picture but this is the basic idea. First, I put the filter HB2 on at around +8. Then I bring up the exposure by +1 to +2.5 (if the photo is really dark I will bring it up more and if the photo is really bright I will bring it down). I then drop the temperature in between -1 and -2 depending on the photo.
Placing photos: I think this is what really makes an Instagram page. I like to post different photos so that when people go to my page they aren't just seeing that I post once selfie over and over. I try to do something like: Outfit, Filler, Product Shot, Selfie, Outfit, Filler, Filler, etc.
Outfit Picture- photo of an outfit that im wearing or loving
Selfie- photo of my face
Product shot- close up shot of a product/bag/shoes that i'm loving
Filler- Photo of scenary, food, restaurant, etc.
I try to have more outfits, food and product shots than selfies.. thats just what I like to do!
Hope this helps xo
