FAVOURITE PRODUCTS OF 2017
At the end of 2017, I usually make a video of my favorite products I discovered or continued to use. This year, since one of my goals is to blog more, I thought a blog post would be more appropriate. If there is a category missing it's just because I didn't have a product that I continued to use or there wasn't anything that stood out. Here we go, my favorite products of 2017.
Pre-Cleanse- Dermalogica Pre Cleanse Balm
This is hands down the best pre cleanse I've used (so far). A small little amount took of all of my makeup so easily. It just glided across my face and dissolved everything. It didn't hurt my eyes, It didn't break me out. It was so nice to be able to easily cleanse my face after without having any makeup on. I will be repurchasing this.

Cleanser- Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser
This was a good find for me in 2017. The milk jelly cleanser is a cleanser I will continue to purchase over and over. It's a really gentle cleanser. If I use it at night I definitely used the pre cleanse, because although good at dissolving makeup, I like the double step to ensure all the makeup is off. It doesn't leave your face tight or dry, just smooth like a baby's booty. It was a cleanser I was able to use both day and night and I really appreciate that.

Exfoliator- Amore Pacific Enzyme Peel
I used this throughout the year. It's a powder exfoliator that gently strips away dead skin. I loved the smell, It was really clean and subtle. It didn't make my face feel super dry like other exfoliators I used. It also has a really cool gadget that drops out the perfect amount of product each time. I like things that give you the perfect amount, I feel like I'm never wasting product. I'm not sure if I will repurchase just because I want to test out some different exfoliators on the market.

Cream- Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
This is a lotion I always go back to. I can't really put my finger on exactly why. I just really like it, it feels luxurious and sits really nicely under makeup. Click Here to Buy
Acne Treatment- Renee Rouleau Anti Cyst Treatment
This was a great find for me. If I break out, I break out with cystic acne. Most products are geared towards white or blackheads but I could never find anything that was meant to penetrate the under the skin pimples. When I found this it was literally a godsend. It targets under the skin acne and reduces the size over night. Im a big big fan of this and will continue to re-purchase. Click Here To Buy
Mask- Tony Moly Sheet Masks
2017 was the year of the sheet mask. I bought a massive box of TonyMoly and mostly used those throughout the year. I'm not sure if they made a huge difference in my skin but I really liked how you didn't have to wash them off. Great masks for on the go or right before bed! Click Here To Buy
Foundation- Georgio Armani Luminous Silk
I used this foundation anytime I needed a full coverage look to last a long time and this guy always pulled through. I loved the way it looked, the way it blended. It's just a beautiful foundation. Although pricey, I only really used it on nights out, so it lasted me a long time and it was definitely worth the investment. Click Here To Buy
Skin Tint- Glossier Skin Tint
I had to add this in because this was my holy grail daytime base for most of the year. It was super lightweight, evened out my skin tone and felt like I was wearing no makeup. Sometimes you don't want to put on makeup but you still need to look put together and I found this product to be perfect for that. I would pair this with a concealer and powder and be out the door. Concealer- Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer + Tarte Shape Tape
I had a tie between these two. Tarte Shape Tape was this mysterious little gem that I couldn't get my hands on for a long time. When I finally got it, I was very impressed. You needed the tiniest bit to give you the fullest coverage. My only problem with it is that it did crease on my eyes, so I needed to put something moisturizing underneath and then set it with a powder. The Nars Radiant Creamy concealer is a concealer I always go back to. It's just easy. It does the job, it sits nicely, lasts a long time, has a ton of different shades and i'm just very into it.

Powder- Glossier Wowder
I used to just use some powder under my eyes to set my concealer, but I wasn't a huge fan of powder before this powder. This powder was game changing for me. It wasn't full coverage but still provided more colour than a translucent powder. It set everything to a perfect finish and helps my makeup last all day. I'm still using it to this day, and don't plan on stopping. (I also love the brush, very nice).
Bronzer- Benefit Hoola
This bronzer has been a staple in my collection for years. I feel like I don't even need to talk about it because it's just perfect. Perfect colour, easily blendable, best bronzer. Click Here To Buy
Blush- Benefit Dallas
Blushes are hard because it really depends on the look, but this blush was one I always go back to. I would tie this with Tarte Exposed blush (but I didn't own that last year so it was CUT). Anyway, it's such a nice shade for any makeup look, it has the perfect amount of sheen to it. Its super pretty- will repurchase. Click Here to Buy
Highlight- Tarte Exposed
Everyone must have seen this coming. This was basically the only highlight I used last year. I just didn't see a need to use anything else. Its great for every day but also can be built up to be POPPIN. Click here to Buy
Need I say anything about it? It's been my favourite for years. Affordable, black, doesn't flake and makes your eyelashes look wispy and beautiful, just the way I like them.
Setting Spray- Caudalie
LOVE. It's technically not a setting spray its actually a beauty elixer spray. No idea what that means, and don't care. I use this spray during my skin care routine, before applying my makeup, as a setting spray, when im feeling dry, when im feeling sad, basically anywhere any place. I currently have 3 bottles + a mini bottle in my house. Also, fun fact, its antibacterial and thats something I can get behind. Click Here to Buy
Curl Enhancer- Aveda
Holy. Grail. I've been using this product for over 10 years and I will never stop (please don't discontinue this aveda). It gives the perfect definition to my waves and it reduces frizz. The smell is ok, it's definitely a natural scent. It's very natural smelling, very Aveda. The only thing I have to say about this is that, since its a natural product, it can be a bit drying on the hair so definitely use with some sort of oil or hydrating balm. Click Here To Buy
Wave Spray- Ouai
This was a new find for me in 2017 and I really love it. I actually didn't repurchase it so I could try a new one and I regret it. I love the way it smells, the way it enhances my curls, the way it made curled hair look tousled, the way it works with the be curly. It was a great addition to my everyday hair products. Hair Oil- Gisou
This is a hyped product and I have so say I only bought it because I have a girl crush on Negin. That being said, she has gorgeous hair and if she had recommended putting snail juice in my hair to make it look like hers, I probably would have done that. Damn the Persians and their amazing hair, I ENVY YOU. My hair will never look like Negin's, but I can try. Ok, wait, back to the product. It's a nice lightweight oil that makes my hair smell nice, look shiny and it adds a good amount of moisture.
I was given my first Dyson in the summer and I have never felt so blessed. Later in the year I got to work with Dyson and that was amazing since I had already been raving and ranting about their hairdryer for months, and now I got to get paid to do it. Yes please. If you wan't to learn more about why I love this hairdryer so much, go watch my hair tutorial on my channel (shameless plug). Click Here To Buy
I am not a big perfume person. It ussually gives me headaches, makes me feel sick and I end up hating it by the end of the day. This year though, I found some perfumes that I actually enjoy! I'm going to just list all my favourites because there definitely has to be some people like me out there, so I want to give you options.
- Gucci Bloom: florally, girls, light, pretty.
- Glossier You: familiar, clean, easy.
- Atelier Cologne Mandarin Orange: sexy, sultry, citrus-y.
- Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille: Masculin, sexy, smells like the name.
And that's all folks. Hope you all learned something, got some ideas for some new products you may want to try in 2018 and had some fun reading this.
Peace + Love. Love you all.
